Peter Holt is Professor of Vascular Surgery at St George’s University of London, and a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He currently heads the department in this busy regional Vascular Institute that provides secondary and tertiary care to 1.5 million patients in South West London & Surrey, and a broader reach for complex aortic surgery. Professor Holt is also currently Clinical Director for cardio-thoracic and vascular surgical services. He has published 250 peer-reviewed articles on all aspects of vascular disease, including both arterial and venous disorders, including in high impact journals such as NEJM, Lancet and BMJ. In the past, he won the VSGB&I annual research prize on two occasions. He is a committee member of a number of national committees, including NICE appraisals and the Academy of the Medical Royal Colleges. Professor Holt deals with a spectrum of clinical practice including complex aneurysm surgery, carotid revascularization, peripheral arterial disease, the diabetic foot, and venous disorders.
