About BSET

BSET is an association bringing together endovascular interests

The British Society of Endovascular Therapy (BSET) has been primarily set up to create a forum for discussion and research and give support to consultants attempting to set up new endovascular practices within the NHS. The members hold an annual meeting at which trainees are able to present endovascular research. All the current members are the main proponents of endovascular surgery in the UK.

BSET have been able to offer Fellowships, sponsored by Cook Medical, giving the opportunity to trainees in endovascular procedures. Over the last four years the Fellowship scheme have provided 12 cardio-vascular trainees with the opportunity of acquiring new or more complex endovascular skills. The fellowship scheme works with the trainees, selected at competitive interview, indicating a unit of their choice to enhance their endovascular skills. Trainees are not allocated to a centre but are encouraged to choose which unit offers them the best match for their requirements.

Within its public domain, this website also provides basic information, sources of further reading and contacts for anyone interested or in need of endovascular therapy.

BSET was launched by a group of Vascular Consultant Surgeons with an interest in Endovascular Surgery. Our first meeting was held on the 8th June 2007 at the Marriott Hotel and Country Club in Solihull.
